Patrick Hennon has been a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter for more than 6 years and has served on the Board of Directors for the past three years. He currently serves at Chapter Secretary. Patrick works at Comcast Spotlight in Pittsburgh as the Advanced Media Sales Manager, overseeing advertising sales of Comcast.net, Video ON DEMAND and the FYI channel. Patrick is relatively new to hunting. Then he met a woman that would eventually become his wife and in 1994, his future father-in-law Frank Prestia took him small game hunting. It was that first ring neck pheasant that he shot from a tree that hooked him on hunting for good. Patrick now enjoys hunting much larger game and has had the pleasure of hunting in Pennsylvania as well as Texas, South Africa and Zimbabwe. He hunts with a bow but his favorite weapon is his .300 Rem Ultra Mag. (Commonly referred to as Thumper) His favorite quarry are the spiral horned antelope of Africa and he hopes to one day achieve the Diamond Award from SCI for these animals. Some animals taken by Patrick include: White tail deer, Turkey, Kudu, Eland, Bushbuck, Nyala, Gemsbuck, Wildebeest, many Impala, and his trophy Blesbuck. His most memorable hunting experience happened in Texas while hunting for wild boar. Patrick wanted to hunt with his new .375 Rem Ultra Mag. He noticed some movement to his left and pulled up the gun. In order to reduce movement he held the gun across his body and did not turn his shoulders. When the lead boar was clear he pulled the trigger knocking himself off the stool and dazing himself with some great scope eye. When his mind cleared there were 3 dead boar laying in the middle of the road. All three dropped with the one shot. Patrick is married to a wonderful woman named Alexa. They have a four year old son named Alexander and currently live in the Cranberry Area. . |
