Who is Craig Boddington?

 The Pittsburgh Chapter of Safari Club International is proud and honored to have renowned Outdoor and Hunting Journalist, TV and DVD Personality, and Acclaimed Big Game Hunter, Craig Boddington, as our guest at our Annual Fundraiser Weekend at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

Craig was born and raised in Kansas, and began his early hunting there, and in the Western United States for antelope and mule deer..  After college and entry to the Marine Corps, Mr. Boddington was hired by Petersen’s Hunting Magazine as an editor, where his journalism career began.  He has published over 4000 magazine articles published 21 books about big game hunting and shooting receiving numerous literary awards along the way.
Mr. Boddington has hunted extensively throughout the world collecting over 220 species of animals including 86 African safaris and hunting in 29 American States, and has earned the Ovis World Slam of Sheep and Capra, as well as the Ovis Triple Slam.  He was the 2009 recipient of the Conklin Award, named for our own Dr. Jim Conklin, founding member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of SCI and Past President of Safari Club International. He also received the SCI C.J. McElroy Award in 2008 and the Chancellor Foundation Conservationist of the Year Award in 2008, among many other accolades.
In addition, Mr. Boddington has hosted many seminars and television programs on both The Outdoor Channel and The Sportsman Channel.  He has produced and starred in his own series of DVD’s including Boddington on Buffalo, and Boddington on Elephant.

There will be many venues during our fundraiser weekend to meet with Mr. Boddington, purchase his many books and videos, autographed personally.  Come and enjoy our “Breakfast with Boddington”, where he will give a special presentation of “Hunting the West” followed by a question and answer session. Partcipate in a round of sporting clays with him at our shoot. Or visit him at his booth at Outfitters Night or his meet and greet session at the Saturday Gala.
