Frank Prestia Jr. became a member of SCI Pittsburgh in 2001 and joined the Board of Directors in 2008. Frank is a CPA/ABV and was the Managing Member of Prestia Consulting, LLC, a firm that he founded in 2001. His firm specializes in business valuations and business tax planning.
Frank’s love of hunting started when he was 8 years old. He was hunting with his father when a whitetail doe passed 30 yards from him. He was busy making snow angels on that first day of Buck Season when the whitetail started coming up the Tidioute Mountains. Frank’s Grandfather also played a major role in his development as a hunter. “My grandfather told my father good luck and that I would be going with Grandpa that day”. This trend continued for the next 30 years in both Pennsylvania and South Texas. Frank’s Grandfather was the catalyst in the Prestia’s first Safari to Africa. Frank asked his grandfather where in the world he would like to hunt but had not had the opportunity. His grandfather replied without hesitation “Africa!” Three generations of Prestia’s were on Safari five months later.
Frank has fallen in love with Africa and has been on Safari in Zimbabwe and a second hunt in South Africa with his father and another SCI board member, Patrick Hennon. Tracking Eland are probably Frank’s favorite hunts. “I enjoy being in the middle of vast game lands for extended periods of time seeking these ancient bulls.” “The warm days trolling Africa’s picturesque ecosystems and cool nights basking by a crackling campfire beneath the Southern Cross calm my soul”
Frank married his wife Stephanie six years ago. They now have two beautiful daughters, Samantha and Madeline. The entire family loves Frank’s hunting pictures, videos and most of all his hunting stories. “Without the support of Stephanie and my daughters, none of my current personal or hunting achievements would be possible.”
